The Atlanta Workbench - Rare Live Edge Elm Burl Coffee Table
Material & Origin
Origin: Discovered in an abandoned barn in Atlanta, Georgia, this slab was originally used as a workbench that sat on two sawhorses, where it was covered in decades of paint, oil, glue, and grease
Restoration: After weeks of hand sanding, we were able to bring back to life what turned out to be a stunning Double-Burl Elm Slab
Design & Craftsmanship
Wood Details: Features walnut inlays to stabilize cracks and add to the rustic charm of the particularly wild grain and live edge
Metal Details: On either edge of the slab, we installed hand-forged, bent iron over each edge, and carriage bolts. We selected rustic legs made and custom-painted to match the iron ends and recessed into the underside for additional strength
Premium Finish: Finished with four coats of deep-penetrating, food-safe Walrus Oil and wax for durability
Dimensions: 65" Long x 45" Wide x 18" Height
We are particularly proud of this piece, and we hope it finds its way into someone’s home and becomes the centerpiece of their living room
